George Bear, Hoop, Fancy & Traditional native dancer from Manitoba Canada
Bio:
George Bear was born in Norway House and raised on Brokenhead Reserve in Manitoba, Canada.


Over the past twenty years George has travelled extensively in Canada, the U.S., and Europe demonstrating and competing in the dance categories of Hoop, Fancy, and Traditional. Four times he has earned second-place in the World Championship Hoop-Dancing Competition in Arizona..

Highlights of his career include dancing for the Queen of England and Prince Ranier of Monaco. He has done television shows with CKY's Sylvia Kuzyk, the A-Channel's Big Breakfast with Jay and Friday Night with Ralph Benmergui. George has received Awards of Recognition from the Govt. of Canada's Minister of State for Multiculturalism for his participation in multicultural events and presentations.

George currently resides with his partner in Winnipeg, Manitoba where he continues to perform at pow wows, school functions and multicultural gatherings. George hopes that the dance will continue to promote unity, respect and understanding between all nations. George teaches basic pow wow dancing and shares a four direction way of life to those who are interested.
